My Girls

I found this ten year old photo as we were picking pictures for the memorial service for my father-in-law.

Annie is on the left in her onesie that we called "the nutfit" because it had little acorns and nuts on it. That led to her long-standing nickname, Annie Grace Nuttyface.

Haley is on the right wearing a onesie from Big Dogs that was a gift from my godparents.

I love the serious looks on their faces.

Happy Thanksgiving

Tim's father died last week, and we are staying with his mom this week.

It has, of course, been an especially emotional and spiritual holiday week.

I hope everyone has a blessed day.
Heh.

Margaret the Goat

Kirby

After fostering him for six months, we have decided not to adopt Kirby permanently. There are many reasons, the main one being something too vile to discuss here in my happy place!

But we love him and miss him already. I cry every night thinking about him, and I hope he is happy.

Gunny is Gone

*Sniff* I am puppy-less. I spent an hour last night sobbing while the last puppy chewed on my slipper. I named Gunny on the night he was born and had formed a special attachment to him.

On the flip side, I am also puppy-free, and can now begin the task of eradicating the last of the puppy urine from my floor.

Of course, Kirby is not potty-trained yet, but I am going to pretend he is and pretend that I won't be stepping in surprise puddles tonight.

Surrogate Mommy

She's down to the last two pups, and she's not letting them out of her sight.

Too Tired for a Title

Puppies playing on the shelves:

I am nearing the end of my puppy patience...including Kirby, I have had a puppy peeing on my floor and waking me up since June. The cuteness only goes so far...I need a puppy break. Hopefully, these little ones will be adopted soon. Then I just need to get Kirby house trained!

Daddy is Vindicated!

Finally, Daddy's gorgeousness captured on camera:

Ari, looking like a sweet young lady:

Gunny, looking like a tough customer:

Chris and Christina have gone to a new foster home, so now we are down to three. We will keep these three until they are adopted, take a break, and then start it all over with a new mommy dog.

The Least Photogenic Puppy

Maybe he could win Mr. Congeniality if he didn't bite so hard...

I must have taken fifty shots of him...

And not one captured his true adorable self...

We'll try again tomorrow after he gets his beauty sleep...

Pups R Us

Puppies are five weeks old today.

They are so fun and so feisty.

And they bite! Ouch.

So they are lucky that they are so so cute...

Hallelujah!

We are down to five puppies. Four went to a new foster home today. Wow, five is soooo much easier than nine.

We kept some of the smaller, more pathetic pups, and they are really coming out of their shell now that the bullies are gone.

Prayer

Please pray for Stacy and Isaac and her family. They are on my heart right now as the time of Isaac's birth approaches.

Still Life and Fierce Life

Finding art in everday life. Heh.

Fierce puppy. We have to separate her from the rest 'cause she grab their necks and shakes them like bunnies (at least how my childhood dogs shook our bunny *sniff*). Is that normal puppy play? They scream and scream, and she won't stop, so we aren't so sure.

She looks a bit defiant, yes? Cute, but defiant.

Puppy Stress

Having nine puppies around has meant extra work for all of us, mostly in the way of cleaning up their little puppy accidents.

But I think the ones who are experiencing the most stress are our resident dogs.

Chandler has started grinding his teeth, Daisy has been having nightmares and Jane seems to think the puppies are her responsibility.

It is kind of funny to see our normally mellow beasts have their own little nervous breakdowns.

While the Cat's Away...

Mommy dog is at doggie daycare, and the babies are acting like...puppies!

At least my kitchen floor will get a good cleaning...

The power went out this afternoon. It was a hot, hot day with no air conditioner!

Mommy dog is going to a new home tomorrow. She has had enough of her puppies and is desperate to get away from them.

So we will be mothering nine puppies for awhile...then we will be very content to go back to a puppy-free existence!

Dogs and More Dogs

Janie and Kirby chomp on Gunny:

Janie pretends she is Daddy's mother:

Kirby meets Daddy:

And yes, that is dog hair all over my floor.

--

The puppies will be four weeks old on Wednesday. They are stumbling all over and just so so cute.

My favorite puppy...

The day she was born we called her Crankypants, but she has turned out to be a sweetheart.

--

Haley got bit by a dog at the park today. Thank God it was a small dog, but it jumped and bit her without warning, which is really scary. The owner left her there crying, so Tim and I hunted him down. I screamed at him, but Tim stayed calm. Animal Control said they would pay him a visit. I just might pay him another visit, too...:)

Puppy Wrangling

My very talented daughters Haley and Annie, with the help of their friend Ari, took this awesome photo of the entire sibling set.

Left to Right: Gunny, Christopher, Ari, Mia, Joey, Cece, Captain Naghibi, Kristina and Daddy. Whew!
