You know you're spending too much time cleaning up after a puppy when you randomly give a soliloquy regarding the absorbency of different brands of paper towels.

The Zee brand towels are soft and puppy loves them, but trying to pull one off of the roll in a puppy emergency will make you cry.

I am partial to the Brawny guy at this point. I like to watch the magic of the paper towel making the pee disappear.

I really need to get out of here.

God willing, on Saturday I will have a doggie sitter while we are off to Disneyland. My kids are 11, 14 and 15 years old. This will be their first time at Disneyland.

When I was little, the wicked witch on the snow white ride gave me nightmares with her, "Have an apple, deary."

So, you know, I wanted to wait until the kids were really ready for the horror. Well, that and we have always been too broke to go, but someone is giving us free tickets for Saturday.

Anyway, I will probably need therapy afterward, but I am going on snow white. Must remember not to reminisce too much to the kids. No tripping down memory lane! Must be cool mother.

Hope everyone has a happy, summer weekend!

What It Is All About

A wonderful break from dogs and puppies, I got to spend the day with my darling nephew. I walked him around the block, the same route that I take with the dogs. But we walked very slowly, and even stopped to smell the flowers.

Puppy went potty in the right place!

Not just outside, but in the designated potty area (invented by Jane).

I could not be happier. Those of you with dogs know that there is no joy like a puppy getting potty trained.
My husband, Tim, took the photos over at Little Kirby today.

Those photos illustrate perfectly the differences between my husband and me.

I work so hard to frame each photo, center the subject and focus perfectly. Tim shoots the photos at crazy angles, off-center, with abandon.

He hangs his clothes up, categorized by type and color. I throw mine in a basket and dig each day for what I need.

Hmm....we're both a might bit off-center. Now where was I going with this?
Tim just wrapped the puppy in a blankie and tucked him in bed next to him.

I fear we have crossed over into that place we vowed we would never go.

We are now people who let the dog sleep in their bed.

God help us.

Edit: Puppy woke up and wanted back in his pen. He likes to sleep alone!
I woke up with this song by the Wallflowers in my head. It sounds kind of gnarly on you tube, but it is beautiful on the album.

You'd have a wonderful day
If you could see how lucky you are

Spent the day mulling that over and cleaning up after puppy.
