On Compassion

This quote is mostly just for me, but maybe it might be meaningful to you as well.

Here we see what compassion means. It is not a bending toward the under privileged from a privileged position; it is not a reaching out from on high to those who are less fortunate below; it is not a gesture of sympathy or pity for those who fail to make it in the upward pull. On the contrary, compassion means going directly to those people and places where suffering is most acute and building a home there.

Ack...the puppies were sick and had to leave to go to the vet and then spend some more time with their mom to recover.

So...we are very lonely for puppies!

I am trying to at least get baby Daniel over to play. I need some fun.

Watching Bride Wars with the girls. Must make sure it doesn't damage their innocent pysches.

Puppy #1 snoozing with Morgan on the couch.

The pups are six weeks old and weigh a whopping six pounds.

The rescue is awaiting dna test results 'cause Mama is a big, big dog. I can't wait to find out their ancestry! (Update: Mama turned out to be a boxer/st. bernard mix.)

Uh oh. I am getting puppy fever.

Hopefully soon we will have a new foster puppy to snuggle with!

Update: Yay! We will have some mastiff-mix puppies in about two weeks! I can't wait. :)

Update update: Puppies in one week! So excited.
I'm spending the evening alone while Tim and the kids catch the midnight showing of Star Trek. This is when I am glad I have my attack dogs.
