Heat, Smoke, Fire

I am staying inside as the air is in the "unhealthy for sensitive groups" category, and I am a sensitive group. I'm gittin' a little stir crazy.

Daisy was just standing in the middle of the room barking, and now she is whining. I presume she is also feeling a little stir crazy and wondering who turned her yard into an oven.

The bright side: we are not on fire!

Wet Dog Parade

The 98 degree weather seemed a good time to give puppy baths. They tend to make quite a mess at mealtime, walking through the food and stepping on each other's heads. We gave them warm baths in the sink and then took them outside to dry.

Three Weeks and Three Days

The puppies sleeping soundly after I trimmed all of their sharp little claws:

It is a personal victory for me. Since I cut the wee thumb of my firstborn, Tim has handled all of the nail/claw cutting duties in the family. I am feeling quite independent and capable! :)

Grandma's Sewing Table

I wish I could use my Grandma's sewing table in the house, but thanks to 50 years of cigarette smoking, it is relegated to the front porch.

It still makes me very happy to have it. Somewhere along the line, my Grandpa turned it into a make-up table for my Grandma, and I have lots of good memories of watching my Grandma and my Aunt Reen apply their make-up at this table when I would spend the night at the beach house.

Of course, there was always cat urine on the sheets and a scary fox stole in the closet. So I guess they aren't all good memories! :)
